Akele kyun? Why buy a car alone?

Join a monthly group for one car make in your city, and let local dealers compete with sealed discount bids. You get one clear result to look at.

Early-stage demo: no real dealers, no real money yet.

Our hunch, not a fact (yet)

Showroom after showroom.
Call after call.

We think buying a car alone leaves you with very little leverage. One buyer, one dealer, a lot of back-and-forth, and no easy way to tell whether the offer in front of you is a good one.

Caravan is testing a simple idea: if buyers who want the same car make in the same city show up together, dealers have a reason to put their best number forward.

This is a hypothesis we're testing with a demo, not a promise or a proven result.

For buyers

How it works

Paanch steps. Bas. (Five steps. That's it.)

  1. Join a group

Pick your city and a car make, then choose the model you want. Each city and make gets one group a month.

  2. Pay the booking amount

Pay the booking amount plus a small platform fee before the monthly deadline. The fee isn't decided yet, and the demo uses pretend money.

  3. Dealers bid, sealed

Local dealers see how many buyers want which models, not who you are. Each sends one sealed discount bid. Nobody sees anyone else's number.

  4. See the result

The best overall discount that meets the group's minimum wins. Dealer discount and manufacturer schemes show up as separate lines. If no bid meets the minimum, your booking amount comes back.

  5. Get your booking slip

The winning dealer issues your booking slip, and Caravan passes it on to you.

For dealers

Ek group, ek sealed bid.

One group. One sealed bid. A whole month's bookings for that make.

  1. See the demand

On a fixed day each month, see how many buyers in your city want each model of a make. No buyer details at this stage.

  2. Place one sealed bid

Enter a discount in ₹ for each model in the group. Revise it as often as you like until bidding closes.

  3. Win the whole group

The best overall discount that meets the group's minimum takes every booking in that group.

  4. Issue booking slips

Issue one booking slip per buyer through Caravan. How and when dealers get paid is still being worked out, with dealer input.

Run a dealership? We'd genuinely like to hear how this would work for you. Join as a dealer

Kya alag hai?

What's different, in three points.

  • Sealed bids

Dealers can't see each other's offers, so nobody is bidding against a number they peeked at.

  • Schemes on their own line

Manufacturer schemes, like exchange or loyalty offers, depend on whether you qualify. So they're listed separately and never counted in the winning discount.

  • A minimum, or a refund

Every group has a minimum discount. If no dealer meets it, there's no deal and your booking amount is refunded. Whether a small fee is kept is still being decided.

That's the whole pitch. No savings promises; we'll know more once real dealers try it.

Sawaal-jawaab

Questions, answered honestly.

Is this live?

No. Caravan is an early-stage project. There's a demo with pretend money and made-up dealers and car makes. Join the waitlist if you'd like to hear when that changes.

Is my money safe?

There's no real money involved right now: nothing to pay and nothing at stake. The demo uses pretend balances. Real payments would only come after the legal and payment side has been properly worked out, and we'd explain exactly how it works before anyone pays anything.

What will it cost?

Not decided. The plan is a booking amount plus a platform fee, but the fee amount, how it's calculated and what happens to it in every case are still open questions.

Am I guaranteed a discount?

No. If no dealer bids at or above the group's minimum, the group doesn't go ahead and your booking amount is refunded. How the platform fee is handled in that case is still being decided.

Who sees my details?

In the planned design, dealers only see how many buyers want each model. Only the winning dealer gets the buyer details it needs to issue booking slips. The waitlist stores only what you type into the form; see the privacy note.

Which cities and car makes?

None yet. Tell us your city and the car make you're considering in the form below. It helps us decide where a first test would make sense.

Is Caravan linked to any car company or dealer?

No. Caravan is an independent project. It isn't affiliated with, or endorsed by, any car manufacturer, dealer or brand.

I'm a dealer. Can I take part?

Not yet, but we'd really like to hear how bidding for a group would work for you. Join the waitlist as a dealer and we'll get in touch.
